Bronson Ross recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abdul Beatty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilbur Herndon, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Tom Rutherford hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Eau Claire's Abdul Beatty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Eau Claire from getting a goal against them. Ulysses Cameron took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Abdul Beatty. Eau Claire's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of North Atlanta FC booed when Eau Claire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre Mattson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Eau Claire's zone, Blaine Hawk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdul Beatty came out of the goal and Blaine Hawk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilbur Herndon might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abdul Beatty. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilbur Herndon ran back to his position shaking his head. Eau Claire's Abdul Beatty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilbur Herndon in the 23rd minute of play. Abdul Beatty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilbur Herndon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Eau Claire's Bronson Ross sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thanh Bustamante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Wilbur Herndon managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Atlanta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilbur Herndon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdul Beatty breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute, Wilbur Herndon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Abdul Beatty stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilbur Herndon's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Blaine Hawk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Wilbur Herndon came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the North Atlanta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilbur Herndon couldn't finish the play. Jermaine Loyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bronson Ross was the one to do the kick off. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Wilbur Herndon managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Atlanta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilbur Herndon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdul Beatty breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, North Atlanta FC's Rodney Thurston got a free kick in the 79th minute. Jude Arden's shot from long distance in the 83rd minute was not bad at all, but North Atlanta FC's Thanh Bustamante knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. The supporters of Eau Claire booed when North Atlanta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodney Thurston didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Wilbur Herndon put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Abdul Beatty. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Wilbur Herndon managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Atlanta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilbur Herndon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdul Beatty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 99 minutes into the match, Eau Claire's goal looked a bit too open when Wilbur Herndon came free, but Abdul Beatty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. North Atlanta FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
