Phillip Nugent charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phillip Nugent the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in South Santa Rosa's zone, Enoch Chamberlain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josh Dawkins came out of the goal and Enoch Chamberlain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute, Norberto Silban fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 24thth minute of the game Tomás Argoitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but South Santa Rosa's Josh Dawkins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Zane Allred sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marty Latham skillfully saved the ball. When Tomás Argoitz came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Almunge IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Argoitz couldn't finish the play. South Santa Rosa's Josh Dawkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Argoitz in the 37th minute of play. Enoch Chamberlain received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Josh Dawkins came out and tried to block the shot, but Enoch Chamberlain slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 38th minute. Tomás Argoitz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Josh Dawkins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Phillip Nugent to make the kick off. Tomás Argoitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josh Dawkins having to interfere. 59 minutes into the game, Norberto Silban cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Josh Dawkins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 64 minutes, Tomás Argoitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Almunge IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Argoitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Almunge IK getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Minko Pehlivanov hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Almunge IK's goalkeeper Marty Latham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zane Allred. Marty Latham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillip Nugent in the 68th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trenton Kendall got free with Marty Latham in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind South Santa Rosa's goalkeeper Josh Dawkins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Norberto Silban fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josh Dawkins having to interfere. Monty Wills recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomás Argoitz struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Josh Dawkins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Almunge IK. The supporters of South Santa Rosa booed when Almunge IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Minko Pehlivanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Almunge IK's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
