Brett Shannon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shawn Copeland, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Kurtis Wallace fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brett Shannon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurtis Wallace in the 26th minute of play forced Rotan AFC's goalkeeper Brett Shannon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Weldon Feliciano charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Weldon Feliciano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Weldon Feliciano hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Brett Shannon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shawn Copeland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wiley Sheets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andrew Walden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kurtis Wallace recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Kurtis Wallace managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quantico FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurtis Wallace was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kurtis Wallace stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adrian Cesario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Piper in the 51st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Rotan AFC's Steven Weaver got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Kurtis Wallace received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Brett Shannon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kurtis Wallace sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Eric Piper fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rotan AFC's protests and gave Eric Piper a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Quantico FC booed when Rotan AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Piper didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shawn Copeland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brett Shannon having to interfere. When Wiley Sheets came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Rotan AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wiley Sheets couldn't finish the play. Wiley Sheets scored 1-0 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adrian Cesario, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In a very dangerous position, a player in Quantico FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! Adrian Cesario went to the wrong direction when Kip Christie was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quantico FC's goalkeeper Adrian Cesario, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Brett Shannon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Antony Peck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rotan AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Kurtis Wallace scored to the left of an out of position Brett Shannon, making the score, 1-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Quantico FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
