Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Wickliffe AFC's Kerry Ackerman started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Wickliffe AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sonny Mack came free, but DeAngelo Albrecht reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. DeAngelo Albrecht took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Drew Alley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sonny Mack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Drew Alley came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Poquonock Bridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Drew Alley couldn't finish the play. DeAngelo Albrecht stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sonny Mack's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. A hard shot by Wilfredo Stratton from long distance, 29 minutes into the match, got Todd Sanchez's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 36th minute, Murray Purvis fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. DeAngelo Albrecht showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Drew Alley in the 38th minute of the match. Jeremy McCauley charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeremy McCauley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Poquonock Bridge getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Jeremy McCauley hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Drew Alley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 55 minutes into the match, Poquonock Bridge's goal looked a bit too open when Murray Purvis came free, but Todd Sanchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Todd Sanchez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murray Purvis, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Murray Purvis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute of the game, Roscoe Singer landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 59 minutes of play Poquonock Bridge's Jeremy McCauley was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 60th minute, Jeremy McCauley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 62 played minutes Wickliffe AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ray Torrez. Abraham Cerna hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Murray Purvis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 72 minutes, Drew Alley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poquonock Bridge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Drew Alley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. DeAngelo Albrecht showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sonny Mack, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 74th minute, Adrian Whittington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Drew Alley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without DeAngelo Albrecht having to interfere. Drew Alley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute, Drew Alley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. DeAngelo Albrecht was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Poquonock Bridge's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
