In the 11th minute Danny Hubbard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giuseppe Grayson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ned Whitt's late challenge caught a Chelsea FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ned Whitt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danny Hubbard couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea FC's zone, Grant Ashby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elton Libby came out of the goal and Grant Ashby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the match, Chelsea FC's goal looked a bit too open when James Sprague came free, but Elton Libby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
