Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Conrad Whitman made the kick off which started today's match. Clark Trujillo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Conrad Whitman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Cassidy having to interfere. Charles Cassidy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrad Whitman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Clemson's Conrad Whitman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charles Cassidy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Clark Trujillo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Clark Trujillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Little in the 40th minute of play. After 43 played minutes Clemson got a freekick which was hit by Charles MacWilliams. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Douglass Haskins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dustin Bernstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Cassidy having to interfere. There was no doubt that Ruidoso were the better team. Ruidoso's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
