Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ruidoso's Douglass Haskins started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Ruidoso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emery Hartman to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute of the match, Weldon Guevara got a very nice opportunity to score, but Charles Cassidy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ruidoso's Charles Cassidy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rex Singh in the 6th minute of play. Weldon Guevara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the game, Weldon Guevara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Charles Cassidy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Ruidoso's Charles Cassidy got control of the ball when Weldon Guevara tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Ruidoso getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Garth Barger hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Ruidoso's goal looked a bit too open when Rex Singh came free, but Charles Cassidy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charles Cassidy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rex Singh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruidoso's Bryant Goodman got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Ottumwa defense, Douglass Haskins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marlin Sykes. The Ottumwa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marlin Sykes should have stopped the shot. Charles Cassidy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rex Singh in the 29th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Weldon Guevara got free with Charles Cassidy in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Ruidoso's zone, Weldon Guevara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Cassidy came out of the goal and Weldon Guevara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Weldon Guevara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rex Singh was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 41st minute. Ottumwa's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 43rd minute, Ruidoso's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rex Singh fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 45 minutes, Weldon Guevara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ottumwa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Weldon Guevara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Ottumwa's Weldon Guevara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charles Cassidy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rex Singh made a kick off. Bryant Goodman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Marlin Sykes made a huge save. Marlin Sykes acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 56th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Davis Shannon. Marlin Sykes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglass Haskins in the 60th minute of play. After 63 played minutes Ottumwa got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Yang. Bryant Goodman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marlin Sykes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Bryant Goodman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Rex Singh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charles Cassidy was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. 77 minutes into the match, Ottumwa's goal looked a bit too open when Douglass Haskins came free, but Marlin Sykes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglass Haskins in the 79th minute of play forced Ottumwa's goalkeeper Marlin Sykes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ruidoso booed when Ottumwa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Travis Gaston didn't get a good kick on the ball.
