Keith Cash blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stanton Tilley having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Presley in the 24th minute of play forced Liverpool F.C.'s goalkeeper Stanton Tilley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 27 played minutes Liverpool F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Esparza. Rocco Osborn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lonnie Bouchard, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Graig Hagen made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Maumee FC's zone, Lonnie Bouchard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rocco Osborn came out of the goal and Lonnie Bouchard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Liverpool F.C. getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Alfred Covington hit a great ball. Stanton Tilley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keith Cash, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ari Townsend took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stanton Tilley. Liverpool F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 74th minute, Graig Hagen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 77 played minutes Liverpool F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Brandon Phillips. 80 minutes into the match, Maumee FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Covington came free, but Rocco Osborn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stanton Tilley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renaldo McMahon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, Maumee FC's Keith Cash sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stanton Tilley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Roger Presley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stanton Tilley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Keith Cash sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. There was no doubt that Maumee FC were the better team. Maumee FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
