The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 15 minutes in the game, Roland Rankin fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mike Key having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chanute FC's zone, Glen Lentz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliver Sheehan came out of the goal and Glen Lentz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oliver Sheehan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glen Lentz in the 22nd minute of play. In the 26th minute Glen Lentz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Sheehan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Alvin AFC's Travis Hawley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oliver Sheehan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Travis Hawley in the 32nd minute of play forced Chanute FC's goalkeeper Oliver Sheehan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glen Lentz succeeded in the game's 33rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. Oliver Sheehan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Glen Lentz's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Lentz in the 41st minute of play forced Chanute FC's goalkeeper Oliver Sheehan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chanute FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roland Rankin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mike Key breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvin AFC's Glen Lentz got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 68 played minutes Alvin AFC got a freekick which was hit by Cristopher Boyles. Oliver Sheehan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Lentz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Chanute FC's goal looked a bit too open when Glen Lentz came free, but Oliver Sheehan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Glen Lentz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Travis Hawley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Chanute FC's Oliver Sheehan got control of the ball when Travis Hawley tried to sneak it across the goal line.
