Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nathanial Stallings got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute Nathanial Stallings shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay Burkett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nathanial Stallings received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Jay Burkett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silas Alvaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Hawaii Suns's Denny Salas got control of the ball when Ty Taylor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ty Taylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Salas having to interfere. Silas Alvaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Salas having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hawaii Suns's zone, Reynaldo Sorenson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denny Salas came out of the goal and Reynaldo Sorenson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mike Mobley in the 26th minute of play forced STL City FC's goalkeeper Jay Burkett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Sorenson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Denny Salas having to make a save. A well placed Glen Duarte short distance shot in the 31st minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. 37 minutes into the match, Hawaii Suns's goal looked a bit too open when Glen Duarte came free, but Denny Salas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Silas Alvaro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Denny Salas, 2-0. 43 minutes into the match, Hawaii Suns's goalkeeper Denny Salas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glen Duarte. In the 45th minute Mike Mobley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay Burkett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 51 played minutes Hawaii Suns got a freekick which was hit by Don Yates. 52 minutes into the match, Glen Duarte notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Hawaii Suns's Denny Salas. Denny Salas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 56 minutes, Glen Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STL City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glen Duarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. STL City FC's Glen Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ty Taylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Salas having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hawaii Suns's Avery Milligan got a free kick in the 65th minute. After having played for 69 minutes, Ty Taylor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STL City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ty Taylor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Reynaldo Sorenson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denny Salas was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After 79 played minutes STL City FC got a freekick which was hit by Roger McClendon. Silas Alvaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Denny Salas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Duarte in the 84th minute of play forced Hawaii Suns's goalkeeper Denny Salas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silas Alvaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the game, Vern Chester cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Denny Salas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hawaii Suns's Don Yates suffered a sore thigh after 90 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 90 minutes, Reynaldo Sorenson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the STL City FC and the Hawaii Suns players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute Glen Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denny Salas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. STL City FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
