The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Tuborg United FC booed when Groveland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neil Urbina didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kris Hoffman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Seth Key managed to get in a good position for a shot. Groveland's supporters rose to their feet, but Seth Key was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnathon Hatfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kris Hoffman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Trotter having to interfere. A hard shot 26 in the game by Carlos Groves from a close distance when the talented Anton Trotter managed to make a qualified save. Groveland's players were relieved. If Seth Key had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kris Hoffman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Trotter having to interfere. Carlos Groves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Anton Trotter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Geoffrey Mason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Groveland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geoffrey Mason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kris Hoffman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Anton Trotter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Trotter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Groves in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Seth Key made a kick off. Geoffrey Mason struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Johnathon Hatfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Groveland. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Seth Key in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnathon Hatfield prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Johnathon Hatfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seth Key, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Groveland's Sherwood Hinson got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 89th of the match, Neil Urbina tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Johnathon Hatfield got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 91st minute of the match Groveland got a corner. Tuborg United FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tory Rudd ran over to the corner to take the kick. Renato Finn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnathon Hatfield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. After 97 minutes, Carlos Groves made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Groveland's Anton Trotter tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
