Seating: 1779, VIP seats: 5) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jude Powers kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daryl Rose in the 11th minute of play forced Groveland's goalkeeper Anton Trotter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daryl Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Trotter having to interfere. Anton Trotter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daryl Rose in the 15th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Groveland's Neil Urbina got a free kick in the 16th minute. Daryl Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Trotter having to interfere. Groveland's Anton Trotter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ray Redd in the 23rd minute of play. Ray Redd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Anton Trotter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daryl Rose struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Anton Trotter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cherryvale. Geoffrey Mason's late challenge caught a Cherryvale's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geoffrey Mason helped the player get up and apologised. Geoffrey Mason kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Ray Redd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cherryvale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ray Redd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Daryl Rose notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Groveland's Anton Trotter. Anton Trotter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Groveland's zone, Jude Powers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anton Trotter came out of the goal and Jude Powers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jude Powers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anton Trotter having to make a save. If Dean Novak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Cherryvale were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Dean Novak kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Daryl Rose sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Daryl Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Trotter having to interfere. In the 58th minute of the match, Ray Redd got a very nice opportunity to score, but Anton Trotter was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Groveland's Tory Rudd got a free kick in the 60th minute. Cherryvale's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 61st minute of the game, when Cobi Goodwin after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Groveland's goal. Cobi Goodwin was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Josef Colbert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Anton Trotter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cherryvale's Dean Novak got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Groveland's zone, Dean Novak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anton Trotter came out of the goal and Dean Novak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jude Powers struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Anton Trotter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cherryvale. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the match, Groveland's goal looked a bit too open when Jude Powers came free, but Anton Trotter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Neil Urbina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reed Bateman. Cherryvale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Neil Urbina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Cherryvale's Reed Bateman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tory Rudd in the 86th minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, Groveland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roosevelt Bingham to maneuver through the defense. Cherryvale were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
