Reynaldo Faulkner was a little too slow when Orlando Clearwater got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-0. The supporters of Gotham City FC booed when Margate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamar Harden didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Davis Orr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Mayfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Whitt in the 29th minute of play forced Margate's goalkeeper Reynaldo Mayfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Margate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacob Paige was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Gotham City FC's Reynaldo Faulkner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Stevens in the 80th minute of play. The long shot by Caleb Gray in the 83rd minute really tested Reynaldo Mayfield's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Gotham City FC's Davis Orr in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Margate's goalie prevented a goal. In the 88th minute of the match Peter Davidson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reynaldo Mayfield showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Orlando Clearwater fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Margate's protests and gave Orlando Clearwater a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Margate getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Orlando Clearwater hit a great ball. Reynaldo Mayfield acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 93rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Peter Davidson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davis Orr in the 95th minute of play forced Margate's goalkeeper Reynaldo Mayfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gotham City FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
