After having played for 3 minutes, Rolando Stevens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Margate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rolando Stevens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Shelton Hartley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Don Small kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reynaldo Mayfield. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Kailua FC's German Vela got a free kick in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Benny Burgos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Margate's supporters rose to their feet, but Benny Burgos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brent Walter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benny Burgos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Margate's goal looked a bit too open when Corey Chin came free, but Reynaldo Mayfield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Corey Chin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Reynaldo Mayfield, 2-0. Corey Chin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Mayfield having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Margate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Clearwater to maneuver through the defense.

Benny Burgos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Margate's Reynaldo Mayfield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corey Chin in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Kailua FC's Corey Chin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo Mayfield narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kailua FC's Brent Walter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Stevens in the 65th minute of play. Arnoldo Hargrove sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 73rd minute Arnoldo Hargrove shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Mayfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Corey Chin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 83rd minute, Benny Burgos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Margate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 91st minute, Rolando Stevens fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Brent Walter, passed just outside the right post. Benny Burgos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Brent Walter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Margate players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kailua FC.
