Spectators: 7852 (Terracing: 5890, Seating: 1806, VIP seats: 156) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Oscar Carr kicked off to start the match. Carbondale's Rolando Lamb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcellus Cross in the 4th minute of play. Marcellus Cross's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 6thth minute, Rolando Lamb skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carbondale! The referee gave Connecticut FC a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wilson Hernandez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Carbondale's Rolando Lamb. 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oscar Carr in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shayne Herrera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the game, Sammy Bryson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Shayne Herrera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristobal Parnell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Rolando Lamb made a huge save. After having played for 27 minutes, Sammy Bryson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carbondale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Bryson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristobal Parnell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Carbondale's Micah Koehler got a free kick in the 31st minute. Rolando Lamb stood somewhat misplaced when Marcellus Cross came free in front of goal and shot 3-1 to the left of him in the 34 minute. 38 minutes into the game, Cristobal Parnell recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rolando Lamb. Cristobal Parnell showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. After 44 minutes of play, Connecticut FC's Cristobal Parnell made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Lamb was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 48th minute Sammy Bryson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shayne Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Marcellus Cross made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Oscar Carr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Connecticut FC fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Connecticut FC's Marcellus Cross looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Shayne Herrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Carr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Connecticut FC's Shayne Herrera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Connecticut FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcellus Cross in the 64th minute of play forced Carbondale's goalkeeper Rolando Lamb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Xavier Rogers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carbondale's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Connecticut FC the free kick. 72 minutes into the match, Carbondale's goal looked a bit too open when Marcellus Cross came free, but Rolando Lamb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute Oscar Carr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shayne Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Connecticut FC's Marcellus Cross in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carbondale's goalie prevented a goal. 82 minutes into the game, Connecticut FC's Marcellus Cross nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Lamb made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. After a defensive mix-up in Connecticut FC's zone, Oscar Carr stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shayne Herrera came out of the goal and Oscar Carr tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute, Darius Reaves reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Shayne Herrera. The goal made the score 8-2. Carbondale's Rolando Lamb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcellus Cross in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that Connecticut FC were the better team. Connecticut FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
