Spectators: 7855 (Terracing: 5892, Seating: 1807, VIP seats: 156) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tyron Painter took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Union's goalkeeper Deon Kimbrough, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stanton Glenn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tyron Painter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shayne Herrera having to interfere. Shayne Herrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tyron Painter in the 13th minute of the match. Trent Carey kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Deon Kimbrough successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thurman Dodson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Deon Kimbrough came out and tried to block the shot, but Thurman Dodson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 24th minute. Connecticut FC's Martin Frederick got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Union defense, Marcellus Cross kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Deon Kimbrough. The Union fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Deon Kimbrough should have stopped the shot. Marcellus Cross let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 33rd minute shot 4-0 at rihgt post. In the 35th minute Martin Frederick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deon Kimbrough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Union's Elvis Willett got a free kick in the 36th minute. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Marcellus Cross put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Deon Kimbrough. In the 46th minute, Connecticut FC's Wilson Hernandez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Wilson Hernandez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Connecticut FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Wilson Hernandez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Connecticut FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Union:s goal. The referee gave Union a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jessie Dunn, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Connecticut FC's Shayne Herrera. 5-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-1.

The wind increased when Martin Frederick made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Union's Tyron Painter got a free kick in the 55th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Connecticut FC's Bronson Goff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Deon Kimbrough narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stanton Glenn took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shayne Herrera. Shayne Herrera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. Cristobal Parnell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristobal Parnell struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Deon Kimbrough didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Connecticut FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyron Painter in the 87th minute of play forced Connecticut FC's goalkeeper Shayne Herrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Union's Deon Kimbrough played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Frederick in the 88th minute of play. If Martin Frederick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Cristobal Parnell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Connecticut FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristobal Parnell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tyron Painter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Connecticut FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Union:s goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Connecticut FC fully deserved thier win.
