Charles City's attack was well implemented in the 28th minute, but when Bailey Wooten was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 36th minute Charles City were awarded a corner. Olin Zimmer went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Bailey Wooten got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-2. 37 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Graham Dunlap got free with Richie Keys in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Blake Burger got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Blake Burger hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harry Benton to make the kick off. Marcus Walton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rusty Hadley in the 68th minute. When Cyrus Rhodes fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Kansas Jayhawks FC's Marcus Walton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Kansas Jayhawks FC from getting a goal against them. Graham Dunlap might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richie Keys. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Graham Dunlap ran back to his position shaking his head. After 96 minutes of play Kansas Jayhawks FC's Cyrus Rhodes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Kansas Jayhawks FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Cyrus Rhodes hit a great ball. The Kansas Jayhawks FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Charles City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
