In the 7th minute, Benito Vigil ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Garry Arnold was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Newburyport FC's zone, Jonas Hurd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garry Arnold came out of the goal and Jonas Hurd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Benito Vigil sped through Newburyport FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Garry Arnold. A collision led to Blue Sheep getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Sandy French hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Benito Vigil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garry Arnold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garry Arnold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Vigil in the 28th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Jonas Hurd notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Newburyport FC's Garry Arnold. Garry Arnold was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benito Vigil to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Oswaldo Stanley reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Garry Arnold. The goal made the score 0-4. 67 minutes into the match, Newburyport FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stanley Wolf came free, but Garry Arnold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Ramiro Crabtree in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Newburyport FC's Francisco Mora. After a rather tough play, Newburyport FC's Berry Vaughan got a free kick in the 70th minute. Jonas Hurd struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Garry Arnold didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Sheep. Newburyport FC's Garry Arnold proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Newburyport FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Newburyport FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Berry Vaughan hit a great ball. Francisco Mora kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Sandy French's late challenge caught a Newburyport FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandy French helped the player get up and apologised. Nathaniel Broussard struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Porter North didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newburyport FC. The Blue Sheep players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
