Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Dirk Mitchell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdul Thomson in the 3rd minute of the match. Berry Jimenez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute, Rod Temple got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Barnwell! The goalkeeper, Don Doyle, was totally fooled by Downriver's Rod Temple, who 13 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 21 minutes of play, Barnwell's Abdul Thomson made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dirk Mitchell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Downriver's Dirk Mitchell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berry Jimenez in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Downriver's goal looked a bit too open when Berry Jimenez came free, but Dirk Mitchell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mario Eastman's late challenge caught a Barnwell's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario Eastman helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Downriver getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Mario Eastman hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Berry Jimenez was the one to do the kick off. Don Doyle came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Downriver's Weston Oberle. But to his dismay, Weston Oberle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. 55 minutes into the match, Barnwell's goal looked a bit too open when Zack Hansen came free, but Don Doyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Barnwell's Berry Jimenez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dirk Mitchell. That made the score 4-2 after 57 minutes of play. After having played for 60 minutes, Abdul Thomson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barnwell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdul Thomson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Downriver's Dirk Mitchell got control of the ball when Abdul Thomson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Don Doyle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francesco Hyde's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Weston Oberle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Don Doyle was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Dirk Mitchell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zackary Esposito in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Downriver's goal looked a bit too open when Berry Jimenez came free, but Dirk Mitchell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rod Temple received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Don Doyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Don Doyle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesco Hyde, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Don Doyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rod Temple, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francesco Hyde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Don Doyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Francesco Hyde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francesco Hyde in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Don Doyle saved Barnwell from getting behind. In the 94th minute Weston Oberle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Don Doyle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th match minute, Barnwell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danny McGee to maneuver through the defense. Downriver's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
