Gotham City Athletic's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Carson Thompson scored to the left of an out of position Elvis Huston, making the score, 1-0. Woodlands FC's Gerald Aldrich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Samuels in the 10th minute of play. Maxwell Powell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ace Godfrey hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Jeff Baird received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Elvis Huston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeff Baird got free with Elvis Huston in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeff Baird could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Elvis Huston made a huge save. Carson Thompson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Gotham City Athletic defense, Jeff Baird kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elvis Huston. The Gotham City Athletic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elvis Huston should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carson Thompson to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Jeff Baird ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elvis Huston was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Elvis Huston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carson Thompson in the 59th minute of play. A collision led to Gotham City Athletic getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Allan Samuels hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maxwell Powell got free with Gerald Aldrich in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elvis Huston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeff Baird in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Woodlands FC's Jeff Baird sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elvis Huston narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 75 played minutes Gotham City Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Allan Samuels. In the 77th minute Carson Thompson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elvis Huston saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carson Thompson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerald Aldrich made an important save on a dangerous shot by Allan Samuels in the 83rd minute. Elvis Huston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carson Thompson, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Jeff Baird scored 4-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elvis Huston, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Woodlands FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gotham City Athletic had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
