In the 16th minute Bennett Coyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Molina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mount Josh booed when Paranaense Soccer Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddy Carrasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paranaense Soccer Club's Peter Molina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bennett Coyle in the 19th minute of play. Eliseo Stanley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Molina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bennett Coyle, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Bennett Coyle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Paranaense Soccer Club getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Luciano Rushing hit a great ball. If Bennett Coyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bennett Coyle struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Peter Molina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mount Josh. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliseo Stanley in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Molina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Andrew Coats fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mount Josh's protests and gave Andrew Coats a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Mount Josh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrew Coats to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Ring to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Pennington during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luciano Rushing's late challenge caught a Mount Josh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luciano Rushing helped the player get up and apologised. 61 minutes into the match, Mount Josh's Francesco Kimble broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vince Durham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Ring in the 62nd minute of the match. Dallas Stuart hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Dominic Arrington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Durham having to interfere. In the 70th minute Alberto Ring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Durham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bennett Coyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bennett Coyle came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Mount Josh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bennett Coyle couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Mount Josh failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
