Palm Springs FC's Thaddeus Carpenter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Palm Springs FC from getting a goal against them. 42 minutes into the match, 4th Republic USA's Phil Dudley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thaddeus Carpenter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Palm Springs FC's zone, Phil Dudley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thaddeus Carpenter came out of the goal and Phil Dudley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Phil Dudley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 4th Republic USA's Guillermo Dietz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Zachariah Roland, made in the 87th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phil Dudley in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thaddeus Carpenter saved Palm Springs FC from getting behind. In the 90th minute, Palm Springs FC's Zachariah Daugherty dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Guillermo Dietz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Thaddeus Carpenter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
