The score was now 2-1. 29 minutes into the match, América de Cali's goalkeeper Phillip Grimes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basil Shipley. Gary Sanderson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonah Crozier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Jonah Crozier sped through América de Cali's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Phillip Grimes. Jonah Crozier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip Grimes having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Basil Shipley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonah Crozier was the one to do the kick off. Garth Gomez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddie Robertson, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. If Davis Carlos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, América de Cali's Davis Carlos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. In the 84th minute Jonah Crozier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phillip Grimes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. América de Cali's Davis Carlos got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Jonah Crozier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. River Poker's Garth Gomez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davis Carlos in the 96th minute of play.
