After a defensive mix-up in Valdez's zone, Lamar Dodge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas Koenig came out of the goal and Lamar Dodge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lamar Dodge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonas Koenig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duncan Acosta in the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Valdez's Duncan Sweeney ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ken Ibarra. Ken Ibarra yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. With a little luck, La Scaloneta FC's Ken Ibarra got control of the ball when Duncan Sweeney tried to sneak it across the goal line. Willy Davenport sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute Lamar Dodge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Koenig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta FC's Dominic Tapia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonas Koenig narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Lamar Dodge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dominic Tapia took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonas Koenig. Jonas Koenig dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Duncan Sweeney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ken Ibarra having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel McClure was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duncan Sweeney in the 51st minute of play forced La Scaloneta FC's goalkeeper Ken Ibarra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Steve McGee's late challenge caught a La Scaloneta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Steve McGee helped the player get up and apologised. After 54 played minutes Valdez got a freekick which was hit by Steve McGee. 56 minutes into the game, Lamar Dodge lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Jonas Koenig. Ken Ibarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel McClure, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonzo Mattson's late challenge caught a Valdez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of La Scaloneta FC booed when Valdez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilmer Haynes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lamar Dodge's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonas Koenig read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. La Scaloneta FC's Lamar Dodge got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Valdez fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. La Scaloneta FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
