In the 41st minute, Lazaro Keene hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the game, one of Wellston AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

After 54 minutes Wellston AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Karl Rowley who took care of the corner kick. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Valparaiso C.F.'s Jerold Jarvis got a free kick in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Wellston AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Valparaiso C.F..
