Elkhorn's Felipe Coronado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Elkhorn from getting a goal against them. Jared Cody sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Otsego City getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Adam Downs hit a great ball. In the 20thth minute of the game Jared Cody who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Otsego City's Adolfo Paul was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elkhorn's Jared Cody got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Jordan Schmitt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jared Cody had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tracey McClelland might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felipe Coronado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tracey McClelland ran back to his position shaking his head. Gregorio Avila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Coronado having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Otsego City's Gregorio Avila sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felipe Coronado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gregorio Avilas short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Felipe Coronado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 46 minutes of play, Elkhorn's Logan Stockton made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adolfo Paul was left in no man's land by his defense there!

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Logan Stockton to make the kick off. Gregorio Avila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Felipe Coronado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Benitez hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Elkhorn walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
