Eric Browne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wellston AFC. Oscar Paris's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cory Dudley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. The long shot by Monroe Dyer in the 30th minute really tested Cory Dudley's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 38th match minute, Wellston AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Foster Ledbetter to maneuver through the defense. If Sid Aldrich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sid Aldrich made a kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Wellston AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sid Aldrich came free, but Cory Dudley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Whitney Kendrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Eric Browne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Oscar Paris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Newton Falls's Sid Aldrich got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
