Spectators: 7624 (Terracing: 5758, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Brendon Crandall took the kick off in the first half of the match. Stephen Corona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Malcolm Armstrong in the 3rd minute. 8 minutes into the match, Brielle's goalkeeper Stephen Corona had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Malcolm Armstrong. Sydney Hodge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brendon Crandall in the 10th minute of play. Oliver Stern fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephen Corona having to interfere. If Oliver Stern had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malcolm Armstrong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th minute Brendon Crandall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Hodge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25thth minute of the game Darin Herron who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Star FC's Sydney Hodge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Brendon Crandall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Hodge having to interfere. Brielle's Darin Herron got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brendon Crandall in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sydney Hodge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Darin Herron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Darin Herron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 40 minutes, Darin Herron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brielle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darin Herron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sydney Hodge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brendon Crandall, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. When Brielle's Brendon Crandall in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Star FC's goalie prevented a goal. Darin Herron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Hodge having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oliver Stern made a kick off. Malcolm Armstrong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Stephen Corona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Brielle's zone, Malcolm Armstrong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stephen Corona came out of the goal and Malcolm Armstrong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stephen Corona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Stern in the 58th minute of the match. When Oliver Stern came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Star FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oliver Stern couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Malcolm Armstrong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute Oliver Stern shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephen Corona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stephen Corona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Stern, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Star FC's Sydney Hodge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Star FC from getting a goal against them. Pete Starnes hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After 86 minutes of play, Star FC's Oliver Stern made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stephen Corona was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Brielle getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Kareem MacWilliams hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Star FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Brielle had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
