After 38 minutes, Garry Spivey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Houston FC and the MONT€®®€Y players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicky Neal in the 43rd minute of play forced MONT€®®€Y's goalkeeper Boyce Dahlstrom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zane Dickens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raymundo Bledsoe in the 44th minute of play.

Zane Dickens made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Nicholas McGee sent off a good shot on target. MONT€®®€Y's Boyce Dahlstrom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicky Neal in the 56th minute of play. In the 65th minute Freddie McNamara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boyce Dahlstrom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, MONT€®®€Y's goal looked a bit too open when Nicky Neal came free, but Boyce Dahlstrom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boyce Dahlstrom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garry Spivey's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. After a defensive mix-up in MONT€®®€Y's zone, Freddie McNamara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyce Dahlstrom came out of the goal and Freddie McNamara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicky Neal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Houston FC's Zane Dickens got control of the ball when Nicholas McGee tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zane Dickens was a little too slow when Eli Humphrey got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 0-3. The MONT€®®€Y supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MONT€®®€Y would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
