After some careless play in the Ahamdullilah defense, Loren Dempsey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mervin Moss. The Ahamdullilah fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mervin Moss should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Ahamdullilah's zone, Jake Kauffman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mervin Moss came out of the goal and Jake Kauffman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 1-1 became the score in the 9th minute when Guy Young elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, Lake Odessa AFC's Brendon Bragg got control of the ball when Rudolf Sutherland tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guy Young did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Brendon Bragg 16 minutes into the match. When Charlie Dodson fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lake Odessa AFC's protests and gave Charlie Dodson a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lake Odessa AFC! In the 28th minute Guy Young shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendon Bragg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mervin Moss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Kauffman in the 36th minute of play. If Rudolf Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Guy Young had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Ahamdullilah's goal looked a bit too open when Jake Kauffman came free, but Mervin Moss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guy Young to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Lake Odessa AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rudolf Sutherland came free, but Brendon Bragg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jake Kauffmans short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Mervin Moss to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Brendon Bragg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guy Young, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute Rudolf Sutherland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendon Bragg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mervin Moss stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Loren Dempsey's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Ramiro Hutchison kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes Ahamdullilah got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Hanks. Loren Dempsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mervin Moss having to interfere. The supporters of Lake Odessa AFC booed when Ahamdullilah was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rey Kearney didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Ahamdullilah's Rudolf Sutherland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brendon Bragg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Jake Kauffman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mervin Moss having to interfere. In the 95th minute Loren Dempsey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mervin Moss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahamdullilah were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lake Odessa AFC for a fine match.
