Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 153) Nicky Neal made the kick off and thus started the match. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Devon Swanson took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Zane Dickens to make any attempt to save it. Fabian Koenig charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabian Koenig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Houston FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Fabian Koenig hit a great ball. In the 13th minute of the match Noah MacDowell shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zane Dickens showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Ramiro Maurer could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Zane Dickens however easily saved by the left post. Nicky Neal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chris Singletary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Koenig in the 23rd minute of the match. Freddie McNamara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Singletary having to interfere. Ramiro Maurer came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Zane Dickens could save by the left post. Chris Singletary made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Koenig in the 34th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Federal Way's zone, Fabian Koenig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chris Singletary came out of the goal and Fabian Koenig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chris Singletary took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddie McNamara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Laurence Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Federal Way's Chris Singletary played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicky Neal in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Fabian Koenig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicky Neal in the 43rd minute of play forced Federal Way's goalkeeper Chris Singletary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 minutes of play, Houston FC's Nicky Neal made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chris Singletary was left in no man's land by his defense there!
Drew Crowder kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The excitement rose when Federal Way's Noah MacDowell after 54 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Houston FC's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 3-1. Chris Singletary made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laurence Cardoso in the 60th minute. Nicky Neal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zane Dickens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Maurer, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 68 minutes into the game, Houston FC's Freddie McNamara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chris Singletary made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Freddie McNamara got free with Chris Singletary in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute Nicky Neal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chris Singletary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gabriel Bocanegra fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Federal Way's protests and gave Gabriel Bocanegra a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Federal Way's Gabriel Bocanegra got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Zane Dickens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Devon Swanson went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute Ramiro Maurer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zane Dickens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Freddie McNamara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chris Singletary having to make a save. Laurence Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Chris Singletary tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabian Koenig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chris Singletary made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Freddie McNamara sent off a good shot on target. Federal Way's Chris Singletary proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Federal Way from getting a goal against them. Roland Payne kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After having played for 97 minutes, Laurence Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Houston FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurence Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Federal Way players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
