In the 4th minute Dana Sosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dursun Ali Arısal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 7th minute when Igor Skwira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Chivas USA's Igor Skwira got a free kick in the 14th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Chivas USA's goal looked a bit too open when Dana Sosa came free, but Dursun Ali Arısal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dursun Ali Arısal made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Thomas Henderson sent off a good shot on target. Tim Dow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Skwira in the 21st minute of play. Chivas USA's Dursun Ali Arısal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dana Sosa in the 22nd minute of play. Dursun Ali Arısal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dana Sosa in the 24th minute of the match. Björn-Torben Buß lost his temper 24 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 23rd minute, one of Chivas USA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chivas USA. 26 minutes into the match, Armando Shockley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dursun Ali Arısal. Chivas USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Shockley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Dursun Ali Arısal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Shockley in the 28th minute of the match. Darin Villalobos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dursun Ali Arısal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Chivas USA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Morales to maneuver through the defense. Chivas USA's Dursun Ali Arısal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dana Sosa in the 40th minute of play. Pedro De Gracia kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Charro in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tim Dow saved Bethlehem from getting behind. Tim Dow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Charro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Dana Sosa made the kick off in the second half. When Bethlehem's Dana Sosa in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chivas USA's goalie prevented a goal. In the 56th minute Juan Charro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Dow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute, Pedro De Gracia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedro De Gracia's late challenge caught a Bethlehem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro De Gracia helped the player get up and apologised. Pedro De Gracia hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Chivas USA's Conrad Gagne was substituted for Pedro De Gracia. A collision led to Chivas USA getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Pedro De Gracia hit a great ball. Armando Shockley was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Dursun Ali Arısal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Henderson, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Charro in the 71st minute of play forced Bethlehem's goalkeeper Tim Dow to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Chivas USA defense, Dana Sosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dursun Ali Arısal. The Chivas USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dursun Ali Arısal should have stopped the shot. Armando Shockley hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Tim Dow didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 81st minute, which inside left pole to 2-3. After 85 played minutes Chivas USA got a freekick which was hit by Juan Charro. Dursun Ali Arısal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dana Sosa in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Bethlehem's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Charro came free, but Tim Dow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Bethlehem's zone, Juan Charro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Dow came out of the goal and Juan Charro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dursun Ali Arısal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Shockley in the 94th minute of play. Igor Skwira kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The Chivas USA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chivas USA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
