Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michael Crusher to make the kick off. When Garret Dodson fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monmouth's protests and gave Garret Dodson a yellow card for diving instead. Garret Dodson hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Alex Westbrook made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Duane Glenn sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Washburn FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Monmouth throughout the match.
