Jefferson Winter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ben Lunsford went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ben Lunsford in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jefferson Winter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Terrence Kenny got a throw-in 9 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Franklin Irvin. Ben Lunsford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Jefferson Winter made a huge save. A collision led to Hawkinsville getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Terrence Kenny hit a great ball. Johnny Ludwig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Merrill Redding read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Johnny Ludwig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hawkinsville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pocasset Light the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hawkinsville's Johnny Ludwig got a free kick in the 20th minute. After having played for 26 minutes, Willie Jenkins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hawkinsville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Willie Jenkins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Hawkinsville's Monroe Dyer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Merrill Redding made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Jonathan Corley charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Corley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathan Corley kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Merrill Redding made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monroe Dyer in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes in the game, Jonathan Corley fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jefferson Winter having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ben Lunsford got free with Jefferson Winter in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franklin Irvin during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonathan Corley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Merrill Redding showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monroe Dyer, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute, Johnny Ludwig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Monroe Dyer got free with Merrill Redding in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Pocasset Light's Merrill Redding got control of the ball when Johnny Ludwig tried to sneak it across the goal line. Monroe Dyer's late challenge caught a Pocasset Light's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Monroe Dyer helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet as Hawkinsville's Monroe Dyer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Merrill Redding. That made the score 1-5 after 85 minutes of play. Hawkinsville's Monroe Dyer got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th minute Willie Jenkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merrill Redding saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jefferson Winter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Webber in the 91st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Hawkinsville's Franklin Irvin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Merrill Redding. That made the score 1-6 after 94 minutes of play.
