After having played for 7 minutes, Leo Huber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Effingham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Huber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgardo Blackburn kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the game, Rick Blackman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Brant Palacios was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tim McDermott took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tuan Napier. Tuan Napier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Melvin Benitez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Tuan Napier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melvin Benitez might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tuan Napier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Melvin Benitez ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 27th minute by Leo Huber got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Brant Palacios made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rick Blackman in the 28th minute. Isidro McGraw's late challenge caught a L.A. Wolves F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isidro McGraw helped the player get up and apologised. In the 30th minute, Isidro McGraw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st match minute, L.A. Wolves F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Roberson to maneuver through the defense. Leo Huber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, L.A. Wolves F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Huber came free, but Brant Palacios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgardo Blackburn succeeded in the game's 40th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. After 43 played minutes L.A. Wolves F.C got a freekick which was hit by Tyrese Odell. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

A collision led to Effingham getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Frankie Alvarado hit a great ball. When Tyrese Odell came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the L.A. Wolves F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tyrese Odell couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in L.A. Wolves F.C's zone, Leo Huber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brant Palacios came out of the goal and Leo Huber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Melvin Benitez could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Tuan Napier however easily saved by the left post. If Andy Roberson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Huber in the 63rd minute of play forced L.A. Wolves F.C's goalkeeper Brant Palacios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Effingham's Tuan Napier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Effingham from getting a goal against them. L.A. Wolves F.C's Brant Palacios played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick Blackman in the 70th minute of play. L.A. Brant Palacios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Huber in the 89th minute of the match. Melvin Benitez took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tuan Napier.
