Sajokia's Miomir Knežević proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Sajokia from getting a goal against them. When Nestor de Barros fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sajokia's protests and gave Nestor de Barros a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes Sajokia got a freekick which was hit by Nestor de Barros. Miomir Knežević was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Djibouti Jujy Fruits booed when Sajokia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Velasquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fritz Futterman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Djibouti Jujy Fruits's Bill Major was substituted for Pablo Rodriguez. A collision led to Djibouti Jujy Fruits getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Randy Roland hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor de Barros got free with Gilberto Boyer in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aírton Vianna during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute Bill Major shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miomir Knežević saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Djibouti Jujy Fruits had won after a very even match.
