The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Terrell Roark during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Elkhorn's Terrell Roark got a free kick in the 8th minute. Elkhorn's Tad Duff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leland Agostino in the 9th minute of play. Elkhorn's Tad Duff proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Elkhorn from getting a goal against them. Tomas Fairchild kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Tad Duff didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricky Flores went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 29th minute, Johnnie Crowell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mervin Ellison in the 33rd minute of play forced Bilbao Atletic FC's goalkeeper Martin Padron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute of the match Elkhorn got a corner. Bilbao Atletic FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bryant Mobley ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ricky Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Tad Duff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Tad Duff successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 39th play minute Ricky Flores came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tad Duff. 3-0. Ricky Flores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tad Duff having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Lonnie Weathers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricky Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Tad Duff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tad Duff was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Otis Sanderson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 48 minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otis Sanderson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored Bilbao Atletic FC's protests and gave Lonnie Weathers a yellow card for diving instead.
