Standiford String Band could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Ralph Charles made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Chaguanas Strikers's Standiford String Band got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 15th minute Dominic Connell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clyde Chambers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Standiford String Band hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Winston Castagne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Clyde Chambers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Standiford String Band to make the kick off. If Winston Castagne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natasha Badree received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ralph Charles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Beryl Rodriguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Joel Rodriguez fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Under 21 Club's protests and gave Joel Rodriguez a yellow card for diving instead.
