After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Sal Abechuco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cascabel FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sal Abechuco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Calvino Molleda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the match, LA GALAXY's goalkeeper Calvino Molleda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sal Abechuco. If Sal Abechuco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cascabel FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sal Abechuco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, LA GALAXY's goal looked a bit too open when Sal Abechuco came free, but Calvino Molleda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 59 minutes, Gaitan Carces mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LA GALAXY and the Cascabel FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Calvino Molleda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sal Abechuco, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cascabel FC had played much better football throughout.
