Khilu Areguá Paraguay's Igon Serrano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Andino in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute of the match Terakuã VK got a corner. Khilu Areguá Paraguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bernardino Matamoro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Khilu Areguá Paraguay's goalie and right to Victorino Villasana. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Khilu Areguá Paraguay's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Amadeo Andino took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Igon Serrano. Garaile Uja's late challenge caught a Terakuã VK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Garaile Uja helped the player get up and apologised. Igon Serrano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeo Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dario Nobo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igon Serrano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Timeteo Rescuro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severiano Redondas having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Timeteo Rescuro to strike the kick off in the second half.
