In the 21st minute of the match Domingo Lozano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adolfo Zambrano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Anastas Tejada made in the 22nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Rapid Punta Cana's Ali Atıf Harmanda. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Veguri in the 23rd minute of play forced El Peñón FC's goalkeeper Adolfo Zambrano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Veguri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patricio Veguri in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolfo Zambrano saved El Peñón FC from getting behind. After 31 minutes of play, Rapid Punta Cana's Patricio Veguri made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adolfo Zambrano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 36 minutes, Patricio Veguri made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. El Peñón FC's Adolfo Zambrano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Domingo Lozano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Veguri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Zambrano having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Domingo Lozano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adolfo Zambrano. El Peñón FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domingo Lozano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 46th minute, Patricio Veguri made a precise shot to the right of Adolfo Zambrano. El Peñón FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Patricio Veguri made the kick off in the second half. The Rapid Punta Cana fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Rapid Punta Cana's Patricio Veguri looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 67th minute of the match, Patricio Veguri tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Adolfo Zambrano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 70 minutes, Domingo Lozano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid Punta Cana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingo Lozano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Celestino Carreón fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Peñón FC's protests and gave Celestino Carreón a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Rapid Punta Cana booed when El Peñón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celestino Carreón didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to El Peñón FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Anastas Tejada hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Domingo Lozano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Adolfo Zambrano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patricio Veguri's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for El Peñón FC! The goalkeeper, Adolfo Zambrano, was totally fooled by Rapid Punta Cana's Domingo Lozano, who 91 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Adolfo Zambrano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patricio Veguri went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. Rapid Punta Cana played a much better game than El Peñón FC and deserved their victory. The El Peñón FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
