The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes of play, Morristown's Chadli Chaib made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. But to his dismay, Abdel Boutabout quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After some careless play in the Crete AFC defense, Hocine Gaouaoui kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ali Abdi. The Crete AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ali Abdi should have stopped the shot. 21 minutes into the game, Hocine Gaouaoui cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Ali Abdi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ali Abdi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdel Boutabout, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Crete AFC defense, Abdel Boutabout kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ali Abdi. The Crete AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ali Abdi should have stopped the shot. Hocine Gaouaoui struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Ali Abdi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Morristown. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Houari Boulmerka during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th match minute, Crete AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Houari Boulmerka to maneuver through the defense. Mohamed Mohamed hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. A hard shot 45 in the game by Knodi Yahia from a close distance when the talented Mahmoud Al-Jazairia managed to make a qualified save. Morristown's players were relieved. In the 48th minute Abdel Boutabout shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Abdi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Crete AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Morristown were winning 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albert Djeziri to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Morristown's Tayeb Zidān got a free kick in the 51st minute. Abdel Boutabout could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Ali Abdi made a huge save. If Knodi Yahia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdel Boutabout in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ali Abdi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a little luck, Crete AFC's Ali Abdi got control of the ball when Abdel Boutabout tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ali Abdi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hocine Gaouaoui, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Abdel Boutabout recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute Hocine Gaouaoui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Abdi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72ndth minute of the game Hocine Gaouaoui who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Crete AFC's Ali Abdi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 74 minutes into the game, Chadli Chaib was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morristown's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crete AFC the free kick. Chadli Chaib kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdel Boutabout got free with Ali Abdi in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute of the match Ferhat Sennaoui sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mahmoud Al-Jazairia skillfully saved the ball. If Abdel Boutabout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute.
