If Ahmed Mamouni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Southold's goalkeeper Khalida Abdi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hicham Abdi's late challenge caught a Southold's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hicham Abdi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to West Melbourne getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Hicham Abdi hit a great ball. When Cheb Moll fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored West Melbourne's protests and gave Cheb Moll a yellow card for diving instead. After 23 played minutes West Melbourne got a freekick which was hit by Cheb Moll. After recieving a nice pass, Southold's Madhi Hadjadj tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Mustapha Mihoubi kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Ahmed Belkheir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Khalida Abdi having to interfere. If Ahmed Belkheir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Khalida Abdi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmed Mamouni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Madjid Mehenni scored 1-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abdelaziz Ghazi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
