When Theirn Read came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Aishihik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theirn Read couldn't finish the play. Aishihik's Roscoe Barbour got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th match minute, Whaletown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donatien Lizotte to maneuver through the defense. When Roscoe Barbour came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Aishihik fans jumped to their feet. Theirn Read blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arturo Adair having to make a save. Theirn Read sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Contreras cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Antoine McNeal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roscoe Barbour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aishihik's Antoine McNeal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertrand Tracy in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Whaletown FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roscoe Barbour stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Theirn Read scored 1-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arturo Adair, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Theirn Read fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Adair having to interfere. Roscoe Barbour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Arturo Adair tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arturo Adair made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roscoe Barbour in the 73rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Whaletown FC's Doyle Bonner got a free kick in the 74th minute. Antoine McNeal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertrand Tracy, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute Roscoe Barbour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Adair saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Whaletown FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
