In the 16th minute of the match Marcelo Blount sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Merrill Dionne skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Sebas Patriots booed when Shebandowan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolf Deal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 played minutes Shebandowan got a freekick which was hit by Rolf Deal. After 25 minutes of play Shebandowan's Monte Roark was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 25th minute, Monte Roark hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Antonio Cummins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Merrill Dionne was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. A collision led to Shebandowan getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Cody Lévesque hit a great ball. Merrill Dionne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Édouard McManus in the 39th minute of play. After 43 played minutes Sebas Patriots got a freekick which was hit by Scottie Steele. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Édouard McManus came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Sebas Patriots fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Édouard McManus couldn't finish the play. 54 minutes into the match, Shebandowan's goalkeeper Merrill Dionne had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Édouard McManus. In the 57th minute, Sebas Patriots's Antonio Cummins dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shebandowan's goalkeeper Merrill Dionne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Édouard McManus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Merrill Dionne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Cummins in the 71st minute of the match. If Édouard McManus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the game, Antonio Cummins lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Merrill Dionne. After a defensive mix-up in Shebandowan's zone, Antonio Cummins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Merrill Dionne came out of the goal and Antonio Cummins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Phil George showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anatole Ballard, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Édouard McManus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sebas Patriots's supporters rose to their feet, but Édouard McManus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Merrill Dionne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
