After 22 minutes Whitworth AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dan Wyatt who took care of the corner kick. Winfred Chalut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thibault Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roger Saindon kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Gene Shepards short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Winfred Chalut to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 31st minute, Devon Valentin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute, Thibault Draper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience held their breath when Dan Wyatt in the 36th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Burt Benoit's left hand side. After a rather tough play, Whitworth AFC's Rodrick Foley got a free kick in the 38th minute. After 39 played minutes, Penetanguishene AFC's Dan Wyatt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Burt Benoit came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Penetanguishene AFC reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gene Shepard got free with Winfred Chalut in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thibault Draper stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Whitworth AFC's Burt Benoit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulysses Choi in the 55th minute of play. Thibault Draper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Winfred Chalut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulysses Choi struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Burt Benoit didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penetanguishene AFC. 71 minutes into the match, Whitworth AFC's goalkeeper Burt Benoit had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marion Miles. Whitworth AFC's Burt Benoit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulysses Choi in the 72nd minute of play. Dominique Hernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. If Gene Shepard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute Gene Shepard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Winfred Chalut saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thibault Draper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Penetanguishene AFC's Marion Miles managed to work through Whitworth AFC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Marion Miles dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The supporters of Whitworth AFC booed when Penetanguishene AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Saindon didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Devon Valentin fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penetanguishene AFC's protests and gave Devon Valentin a yellow card for diving instead. Devon Valentin kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
