Willis Bartlett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Moses Fields fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willis Bartlett having to interfere. Willis Bartlett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Torrez in the 25th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Kurt Hampton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wallaceburg AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malonton the free kick. In the 25th match minute, Wallaceburg AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Hampton to maneuver through the defense. Moses Fields struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Willis Bartlett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malonton. In the 41st minute, Frederick Barrera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Séverin Ibarra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Perry Duplessis made a huge save. Moses Fields took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Willis Bartlett. Willis Bartlett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frederick Barrera to strike the kick off in the second half. After 61 played minutes Malonton got a freekick which was hit by Heriberto McElroy. After having played for 64 minutes, Séverin Ibarra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wallaceburg AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Séverin Ibarra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
