Warner Brady showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederick Barrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Johnny Johns hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Séverin Ibarra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Hussar's Elden Woodruff got a free kick in the 31st minute. When Séverin Ibarra came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Wallaceburg AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Séverin Ibarra couldn't finish the play. Willis Bartlett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Diaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Dexter Weston was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hussar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wallaceburg AFC the free kick. In the 45th minute, Dexter Weston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frederick Barrera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frederick Barrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warner Brady having to interfere. Frederick Barrera struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Warner Brady didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wallaceburg AFC. 59 minutes into the match, Wallaceburg AFC's Séverin Ibarra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Warner Brady narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dewayne Cassidy's late challenge caught a Hussar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dewayne Cassidy helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd match minute, Wallaceburg AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dewayne Cassidy to maneuver through the defense. When Séverin Ibarra came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Wallaceburg AFC fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Séverin Ibarra in the 77th minute of play forced Hussar's goalkeeper Warner Brady to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Séverin Ibarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the match, Wallaceburg AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jed Bragg came free, but Willis Bartlett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Wallaceburg AFC booed when Hussar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Grady didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corentin Croft hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Gil Diaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Willis Bartlett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Warner Brady came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Wallaceburg AFC's Frederick Barrera. But to his dismay, Frederick Barrera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Wallaceburg AFC had won after a very even match.
