Spectators: 6732 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Steven Sousa started the match with the kick off. Cary Presley kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Erwood AFC's goalkeeper Gino Poirier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernie Carrillo. The supporters of Argenta booed when Erwood AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kelvin Ladd didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toussaint Duarte got free with Gino Poirier in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute, Erwood AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Toussaint Duarte fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Erwood AFC's Eldon McCracken in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 28thth minute of the game Justin Lavoie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Argenta's Christopher Payton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 33 played minutes Argenta got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Riggs. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eldon McCracken in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christopher Payton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The attack was good, but when Justin Lavoie in the 38th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Eldon McCracken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Christopher Payton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Erwood AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Lavoie to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With a little luck, Argenta's Christopher Payton got control of the ball when Eldon McCracken tried to sneak it across the goal line. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Argenta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cary Presley was slow to take the kick. During this time Erwood AFC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Joshua Bolton heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 57th match minute, Argenta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Gomes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Eldon McCracken managed to get in a good position for a shot. Erwood AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eldon McCracken was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christopher Payton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 60 minutes, Justin Lavoie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Erwood AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justin Lavoie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Erwood AFC's Joshua Bolton got a free kick in the 61st minute. The supporters of Argenta booed when Erwood AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarod Stephenson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Argenta's Toussaint Duarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gino Poirier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Jarod Stephenson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75thth minute of the game Toussaint Duarte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Erwood AFC's Gino Poirier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Erwood AFC's goalkeeper Gino Poirier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Steven Sousa took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gino Poirier. Gino Poirier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 87 played minutes Argenta got a freekick which was hit by Damian Hebert. Jarod Stephenson hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eldon McCracken got free with Christopher Payton in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erwood AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
