Gino Poirier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alonzo Hill, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eldon McCracken couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the game, Manual Negron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galiote's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Erwood AFC the free kick. In the 10th minute, Manual Negron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justin Lavoie in the 11th minute of play forced Galiote's goalkeeper Dong Yost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 played minutes Galiote got a freekick which was hit by Manual Negron. 14 minutes into the match, Galiote's goalkeeper Dong Yost had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eldon McCracken. Nicholas Otto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Poirier having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Erwood AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Alonzo Hill came free, but Gino Poirier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justin Lavoie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dong Yost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eldon McCracken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Dong Yost made a huge save. In the 29thth minute of the game Nicholas Otto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Erwood AFC's Gino Poirier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jarod Stephenson's late challenge caught a Galiote's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jarod Stephenson helped the player get up and apologised. Jarod Stephenson hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. During the 32nd minute of the match Manual Negron completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Manual Negron a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 33rd minute, Manual Negron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 40 played minutes Erwood AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nicodème Duclos. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Nicholas Otto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galiote's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicholas Otto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gino Poirier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Galiote getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Alonzo Hill hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute, Justin Lavoie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Justin Lavoie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gino Poirier, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Vicente Prince's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gino Poirier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Nicholas Otto's late challenge caught a Erwood AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicholas Otto helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Justin Lavoie in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dong Yost prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Galiote getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Vicente Prince hit a great ball. Justin Lavoie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Dong Yost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Tilley was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. After 74 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Galiote! The referee gave Erwood AFC a penalty, 76 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cary Presley, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Galiote's Dong Yost. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Galiote's Lance Oneill got a free kick in the 81st minute. Galiote's Dong Yost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justin Lavoie in the 87th minute of play. Dong Yost showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justin Lavoie in the 90th minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
